Evaluating the work of the children’s and youth welfare institution in Graz in regard to non-case specific aspects and aspects reaching across cases

Viasozial, a Munich-based organization, asked the Department for Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland to evaluate the work of the children’s and youth welfare institution in Graz concerning non-case specific aspects and aspects reaching across cases; this evaluation is the core of the research topic on hand. Two ethnographically oriented study loops, one spanning from October 2015 to January 2016 and one spanning from October 2016 to December 2016 served to carry out 10 field studies in randomly selected project settings, evenly spread out across Graz’ four social spaces. Participant observation and qualitative research carried out by assistant lecturers of the UAS Burgenland were the tools used for the evaluation and for setting up a set of recommendations.
