Training and test stand for comfort air conditioning systems

To ensure a continuously good ambient air quality in thermally optimized residential buildings while minimizing heat loss through ambient air, comfort air conditioning systems with heat recycling are indispensable. Still, such systems are not yet standard in residential construction. Compared to the relatively low number of systems in use, the know-how regarding such systems is only limited; this entails technical insecurities in the planning stage and during operation.

To counteract this, the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland has developed a training and test stand for comfort air conditioning systems that serves the following purposes:

  • Hands-on model for explaining and analysing an air conditioning system and its component
  • Simulation capability for various ambient air conditions ahead of entering the air conditioning system (e.g. summer/winter cases)
  • Familiarization with metering methods in air conditioning technology

These facilities allow students and experienced professionals to gain experience regarding comfort air-conditioning systems with the training and test stand and examine concrete issues regarding specific air conditioning components.
