The ARROWHEAD project ( ) is an industry-oriented research project that looks at connecting legacy equipment used for example in manufacturing with information technology components. Researchers pay special attention to security issues and the incorporation of so-called legacy equipment. Legacy equipment is equipment not yet designed to respond to internet-related requirements. Such equipment is still found in test stands in the automobile industry, for example.

Applying modern IT-components and methods such as cloud computing increases the efficiency in manufacturing.

The project unites 81 partners all over Europe and is scheduled to run for 4 years. FH Burgenland has cooperated with various project partners to contribute to topics such as security and safety. At the same time, Forschung Burgenland’s research center “Cloud and CPS Security” benefits from the insights gained through the Project.
