The project SMART-UP aims at supporting business creation and strengthening regional innovation capacities with training, mentoring and building a cross-border start-up community.
Oftentimes business ideas are generated and potential young entrepreneurs lack the knowledge and know-how to take their idea and base a business on it. This is not just a pity for the potential entrepreneurs but for the economy as a whole. The project in hand thus aims at strengthening the regional economy by offering well-founded support to potential young entrepreneurs by setting up a framework in which persons interested in founding a company are provided a framework in which they can develop their idea, connect with peers who are going through similar stages of development and are given hands-on guidance on how to best go about ‘selling’ and ‘promoting’ their business ideas and make them grow into a functioning business. This service is to be offered to young entrepreneurs in the Austrian-Hungarian border region, which is considered an added bonus as the entrepreneurs can benefit from international possibilities from a very early stage on and network within an international start-up community.
The project features basic guidance, a coaching and mentoring section and the establishment of a cross-border start-up community. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Győr-Moson-Sopron County is lead partner of this project, (LEAD). Further members of the consortium are:
Széchenyi István University
